Plan your stay at Camping Grau du Roi!

When should you book accommodation at a Grau du Roi campsite?

As soon as possible! The seaside resort of Le Grau-du-Roi is a very popular destination for campers. It’s therefore advisable to book your accommodation, pitch or mobile home rental, several months in advance to avoid disappointment. Especially if you plan to visit during the summer months or school vacation periods.

We advise you to opt for a 4-star Grau du Roi campsite with an aquatic area to combine comfort and the pleasures of the water. Indeed, many 4-star Grau du Roi campsites with outdoor pools also have waterslides.

However, if you’re flexible about dates and campsites, it’s always possible to find last-minute availability. You can also contact the Grau du Roi campsite of your choice directly to check if they have any short-term availability.

When is the best time to rent at a Grau du Roi seaside campsite?

Thanks to its geographical location, Le Grau du Roi enjoys sunshine most of the year. If you prefer warmer temperatures to enjoy the beach and water sports, the best time to visit Le Grau du Roi is from June to September. Temperatures during this period are generally between 20°C and 30°C, with sunny days and little rain.

In fact, from May onwards, the average temperature is 23°, rising to 30° in July and August. The water temperature is around 21° during these two summer months.

The months of June and September are a little milder and, above all, quieter, as there are no school vacations. If you’re a family, please note that most children’s clubs are closed outside the school holidays.

If you prefer milder temperatures for your camping vacation and want to avoid the tourist crowds, the best time to visit Le Grau du Roi is from April to May or September to October. Temperatures remain pleasant, generally between 15°C and 25°C. Take full advantage of the fine sandy beaches in low season, thanks to direct access to the beach from our Grau du Roi Les Jardins de Tivoli campsite.

In short, the ideal time to visit Le Grau du Roi depends on your preferences in terms of weather and activities!

Out-of-town parking lots: There are free parking lots outside the city, but they can be a little far from the main attractions. However, this can be a good option if you have a car and want to avoid parking fees.

What's the summer traffic like in La Grande Motte and Le Grau du Roi?

In summer, traffic can be quite heavy in La Grande Motte and Le Grau du Roi due to the influx of tourists. So it’s best to avoid the rush hours of late morning and early afternoon.

To avoid this, use alternative modes of transport! Opt for bike rental or public transport to get around these coastal towns. Especially as parking lots can quickly become overcrowded, especially in high season.

What’s more, if you book at Les Jardins de Tivoli seaside campsite in Grau du Roi, the famous Espiguette beach is only a few hundred meters away!

Where can I see flamingos from my campsite rental in Grau du Roi?

If you’re lucky, you’ll find the answer at your Grau du Roi campsite! Pink flamingos are particularly common in and around the Pointe de l’Espiguette.
