When should you book accommodation at a Grau du Roi campsite?

We therefore recommend that you reserve your hosting, pitch or mobile home rentalWe’d like to give you a few months’ notice to avoid disappointment. Especially if you plan to visit during the summer months or school vacation periods.
We advise you to opt for a 4-star Grau du Roi campsite with an aquatic area to combine comfort and the pleasures of the water. In fact, many 4-star campsites in Le Grau du Roi with outdoor pools also have waterslides.

When is the best time to rent at a Grau du Roi seaside campsite?
Thanks to its geographical location, Le Grau du Roi enjoys sunshine most of the year. If you prefer warmer temperatures to enjoy the beach and water sports, the best time to visit Le Grau du Roi is from June to September. Temperatures during this period are generally between 20°C and 30°C, with sunny days and little rain.
From May onwards, the average temperature is 23°, rising to 30° in July and August. The water temperature is around 21° during these two summer months.
The months of June and September are a little milder and, above all, quieter, as there are no school vacations. Please note that most children’s clubs are closed outside the school year.
If you prefer milder temperatures for your camping vacation and want to avoid the tourist crowds, the best time to visit Le Grau du Roi is from April to May or September to October. Paid and free parking lots: Where to park outside your Grau du Roi campsite?
If all
city parking lots
are free in winter, some of them will become chargeable from March 30, 2023 to November 13, 2023! Do you drive a hybrid or electric vehicle? This doesn’t concern you! In Le Grau du Roi, parking is completely free for this type of vehicle.
During July and August, it can be difficult to find free parking spaces when driving out of your Grau-du-Roi campsite.
The parking areas are divided into 3 zones:

There are several options for free parking in Le Grau-du-Roi.
In the streets: There are free parking spaces in the streets of Le Grau-du-Roi, but they can be hard to find in high season. Be sure to check the parking signs to make sure you’re allowed to park there, and obey all parking regulations.
Out-of-town parking lots: There are free parking lots outside the city, but they can be a little far from the main attractions. However, this can be a good option if you have a car and want to avoid parking fees.
Parking outside opening hours: Some pay parking lots are not supervised outside opening hours, so it’s possible to park for free at night or on Sundays. Be sure to check opening hours before parking, and to observe all parking regulations.

What's the summer traffic like in La Grande Motte and Le Grau du Roi?
In summer, traffic can be quite heavy in La Grande Motte and Grau du Roi due to the influx of tourists. It is therefore advisable toavoid peak times, i.e. late morning and early afternoon.
To avoid this, opt for alternative modes of transport! Opt for bicycle rental or public transport to get around these coastal towns. All the more so as parking lots can quickly become overcrowded, especially in high season.
What’s more, if you book Les Jardins de Tivoli seaside campsite in Grau du Roi, the famous Espiguette beach is only a few hundred metres away!
Where can I see flamingos from my campsite rental in Grau du Roi?
If you’re lucky, the answer is at your Grau du Roi Les Jardins de Tivoli campsite! In fact, pink flamingos are particularly present at the pointe de l’Espiguette and the surrounding area. You can admire them right on the campsite. Located in Port Camargue Grau du RoiIt’s just a few hundred meters from the Pointe de l’Espiguette.
However, the greatest concentration of flamingos is found in marshes, such as the Aigues Mortes salt marshes and the Camargue ponds. You’re sure to see them too in the nature reserve of the Pont de Gau ornithological parklocated 30 minutes from the 4-star Grau du Roi Les Jardins de Tivoli campsite.
